About the Course
1. About the ISI JRF in Quantitative Economics
The Indian Statistical Institute (ISI) conducts the Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) program in Quantitative Economics for candidates aiming to conduct advanced research in theoretical and applied economics, econometrics, and data-driven modeling.Applicants generally:
Hold a Master’s degree in Economics or allied disciplines (Mathematics, Statistics, or related fields).
Must clear a challenging written test (testing theory, quantitative aptitude, and applied modeling) followed by a research proposal and interview round.
Face very limited fellowship openings, demanding research-level conceptual mastery.
The exam tests:
Advanced Microeconomics and Macroeconomics.
Econometric and Statistical Modeling.
Mathematics for Economics (Optimization, Linear Algebra, Calculus, Probability).
Research proposal writing and presentation skills.
