ABOUT THE COURSE

The Joint Admission Test, to be held on February 10, 2019, will be conducted for different M.Sc IIT JAM 2019 programmes offered by the participating IITs. The programmes of JAM 2019 includes M.Sc, PhD and Integrated PhD programmes. Candidates who wish to seek admissions in the participating IIT’s can go through the list of IIT JAM Programmes 2019. Candidates must make sure to check the list along with the eligibility criteria for each IIT JAM 2019 programmes. Also, while filling the JAM 2019 application form candidates will be given a chance to select up to two courses of JAM 2019. Read more to know the programme codes and the papers codes for the different courses along with the number of seats offered by each institute for a particular course. JAM 2019 is scheduled to be held in the first week of February 2019. The scores of IIT JAM will not only be considered for the admissions to the IIT’s but also the National Institutes of Technology (NITs) and Centrally Funded Technical Institutes (CFTIs) for which a common counselling procedure will be conducted.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

Students are suggested to check the eligibility criteria before applying. The detailed eligibility criteria is mentioned below:

  • Nationality: Indian & Foreign candidates are eligible to apply.

  • Qualifying Exam: Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree in any stream from any recognized college or university.

  • Percentage Criteria: Students must have obtained minimum 55% marks for general & OBC-NCL candidates and 50% marks for SC, ST and PwD categories.

  • Appearing Candidates: Students appearing in the final year of the qualifying exam are also eligible to apply.

  • Exam Mode: The exam will be organized through online mode (Computer-Based Test).

  • Duration: The total exam duration will be three hours.

  • Language: Question paper will be asked in English language only.

  • No. of Questions: There will be total 60 questions asked in the examination.

  • Sections: The exam has been divided into three sections.

  • Total Marks: The question paper will have 60 questions of 100 marks.

  • Negative Marking: There is no negative marking for Section B & C.
